Corrstown Golf Club is placing a strong focus on increasing participation among women and juniors, with particular emphasis on encouraging more girls to take up the game.
For several years, the club has successfully delivered its Ladies Get Into Golf programme, consisting of eight weekly lessons led by PGA professionals. The programme provides women with an accessible introduction to golf in a relaxed and welcoming environment, allowing participants to develop their skills while meeting new people and becoming part of the club community.
To extend this approach to the next generation, Corrstown also contacted local schools and sports clubs to offer golf taster sessions specifically for girls. The sessions provided a fun and accessible introduction to the sport and proved highly successful, with many participants subsequently joining the club's junior golf camp.
Through these initiatives, Corrstown is helping to remove barriers to participation, broaden access to golf, and create a more inclusive pathway into the sport for women and girls.
