To help grow confidence among young girls in the Northwest Arkansas community, Shauna Taylor (Arkansas Razorback Women’s Golf Coach) approached the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship tournament to bring a program to life by partnering with two local schools. This idea resulted in the distribution of over 600 'Confidence Kits' and hosting a group of 200 elementary school students for a field trip at the tournament on Friday, September 24.

The kits were distributed to students at Parson Hills Elementary School, the New School and through the First Tee Mobile Unit and included items such as a mirror with encouraging phrases, a writing journal, worry stone and a 'See Yourself Here' booklet.

All of the confidence programming, including time spent meeting LPGA Tour Players, will tie into the tournament’s onsite kids center (Confidence Courtyard) and will help expose young girls to a broader view of the game of golf and potential careers within the industry.
