Northamptonshire County Golf Club has invested in solar PV and battery storage to reduce its reliance on grid electricity and increase the proportion of energy generated on site. The battery allows surplus solar energy generated during the day to be stored and used later, helping the club make greater use of the renewable electricity it produces rather than simply exporting it to the grid. The system forms part of the club's wider commitment to reducing energy consumption, operating costs and carbon emissions, and is expected to reduce the club's annual electricity costs by approximately 50%.
