To stimulate insects on our "nitrogen-containing" terrain, we have prepared 2 test areas in the rough on the golf course, in which to place seed of wild flower mixtures. This seed was supplied by a company that specializes in producing seed from native flowers and plants.
With this seed, the beds were sown and the harvest was great. Many, including “old” flowers, appeared and the number of insects interested in those flowers was large. The challenge is how to maintain and even expand this floral splendor in a nitrogenous grass environment.
