We invited HIWARG to carry out a survey of the course at NHGC to identify potential locations for homes for reptiles and amphibians. 20 locations were identified as providing suitable habitat and we set to work building these simple but effective reptile refugia.
We reused some old, corrugated metal sheeting that was on site. The sheets were cut into sections measuring approximately 100 x 60mm and laid over grass in concealed areas of the course. We hope that over time that these homes encourage a variety of wildlife.
