Last year, two sessions were dedicated to providing members with deeper insights into golf course maintenance. During these sessions, several holes and the practice green underwent manual weed clearance. Encouraged by the participants' enthusiasm, similar activities will be organised in 2024.
The day commenced with an overview of current legal constraints, particularly the ban on plant protection products, which significantly increases the time required for green maintenance by greenkeepers. This collaborative effort enables greenkeepers to allocate their time more efficiently elsewhere. Participants, comprising positive and enthusiastic golfers, expressed satisfaction with the initiative.
Notably absent were the typical complainers who attribute missed putts to green speed or irregularities. The success of the event ensures the anticipation of everyone's return next year.
