We recently upgraded our fleet of electric golf cars to be powered by lithium-ion batteries and equipped with LED headlights. This upgrade allows for significantly longer battery life, reducing the need for frequent charging and thereby lowering our overall energy usage. Lithium batteries also have a much faster charging time than traditional lead-acid batteries, meaning the carts can be used more frequently throughout the day with minimal downtime.
The lithium-ion batteries make the carts much lighter, which improves energy efficiency, reduces turf wear, and enhances cart performance. They also deliver consistent power throughout the battery’s charge cycle, ensuring the carts maintain steady speed and performance until nearly fully depleted. Additionally, lithium batteries require minimal maintenance and have a much longer lifespan, reducing the long-term costs and environmental impact of battery replacements. The LED headlights enhance safety, allowing our operations staff to transport the carts safely during early morning or evening hours.
