The TOUR Championship’s long-term Proud Partner, Southern Company, has been an influential contributor to the event’s sustainability goals.

In an effort to reduce fuel and electricity emissions, Southern Company provided sustainable solutions across every facet of the tournament. Solutions included providing renewable energy credits (RECs) to cover emissions generated from electricity, renewable natural gas (RNG) to reduce emission from the clubhouse’s appliances, 11,000 gallons of R99 diesel to replace some of the traditional diesel, and piloting 3 battery powered generators as an alternative to diesel fueled options.

Fan facing activations were also part of the TOUR Championship’s focus on energy. Southern Company created the Good Energy Pavilion in the main fan zone to engage and educate fans on the important topic of clean, renewable energy. Battery and solar powered phone charging stations were positioned around the course for fan use, and signage detailing all the positive sustainability initiatives at the TOUR Championship was on display around the course.
