Ecological burn success

The Grange Golf Club NSW

2020 saw a new management technique implemented into The Grange Golf Club's vegetation maintenance operations in the hope of assisting us to manage our landscape and aid in the regeneration of indigenous plant species. We conducted our first large scale ecological burn in July in one of our remnant sand dune swales where we have been advised by a consulting ecologist that there is evidence of a very sustainable native grassland seed bank which would benefit from fire. Four months later and the area is becoming heavily populated with native grasses and herbs. A big success story for the club that fire can be used as a technique to achieving great results, also saving costs on having to revegetate with tube stock.
