Dispersing grass cuttings to feed the soil and reduce waste

At Aphrodite Hills Golf Course we do not collect the grass clippings when we cut the fairways and rough. If there is a lot of grass clipping on the fairways and rough we will disperse them using mechanical methods.

One of the benefits of not collecting the grass clippings is the return of nutrients to the soil as they decompose - thus reducing synthetic turfgrass inputs required. It also reduces the amount of collected green waste which would require processing or disposal at cost to the resort. Of course, this is a good environmental practice, but it also contributes to a significant saving in time and labour.
