In May, we hosted our first BioBlitz event, welcoming volunteers, ecological experts, and members of the local community to participate in guided walks, talks, and species surveys. Together, participants recorded as many species as possible within a 24-hour period, helping to build a clearer picture of the biodiversity present across the site.
Events such as these encourage both golfers and non-golfers to explore areas of the course beyond the greens, fairways, and tees. They provide an opportunity to showcase the rich variety of wildlife that exists and thrives within the landscape, much of which often goes unnoticed.
The BioBlitz also generates valuable ecological data that can help inform future management decisions. By improving our understanding of the species and habitats present on the course, we can take a more targeted approach to conservation and habitat enhancement, ensuring our efforts deliver the greatest possible benefits for nature.
