The Tree Vinegar Initiative demonstrates how natural resources generated through routine course management can be transformed into valuable, sustainable products. Rather than disposing of fallen trees from the property, the timber is used to produce tree vinegar, creating a natural ingredient for a range of eco-friendly personal care products.
Tree vinegar is produced through the controlled carbonisation of wood and is valued for its natural antibacterial and antifungal properties. It is incorporated into products such as shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and other personal care items, providing a natural alternative while making productive use of materials that would otherwise become waste.
Beyond its practical applications, the initiative also provides an opportunity to engage the local community in sustainable resource management. Educational workshops introduce participants to the production process and demonstrate how tree vinegar can be incorporated into everyday products, helping to raise awareness of circular economy principles and the benefits of using natural resources responsibly.
By giving fallen trees a second life, the Tree Vinegar Initiative reduces waste, promotes resource efficiency, and demonstrates the club’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable innovation.
