Creating a new dune habitat

The Eden Course team transformed an area of rank rough into a new dune habitat, creating an attractive backdrop to the 13th green while supporting the club's long-term coastal management strategy.

The dune was planted with marram grass, protected with chestnut paling fencing, and is being managed using the same practices as a natural dune system to encourage its long-term establishment and stability.

This multi-benefit project enhances the visual appeal of the course, creates valuable habitat for wildlife, and strengthens natural coastal defences, demonstrating how golf course management can successfully balance playability with environmental stewardship.
