When rebuilding one of our new fairways, we required approximately 12,000 m³ of material to elevate it. We engaged a local contractor who was constructing new housing blocks nearby.
By permitting them to deposit their excavation material on the course, we minimised the driving distance of approximately 600 trailers from 27 km to 2 km. This resulted in a total reduction of around 15,000 km in driving distance or 15.4 working days for a fully loaded trailer.
Utilising this local contractor not only enabled us to save time and money but also mitigated the scope 3 emissions associated with transporting soil over vast distances for the site.
