SICC implemented a turf recycling initiative during the Island Golf Course Redevelopment (IGR) project. Instead of discarding the existing Serangoon grass from the old greens, the Club salvaged and repurposed it to returf the collars at the Bukit Course. T

This approach not only reduced waste but also addressed a pressing turf quality issue - collars at Bukit were previously 60% to 80% overrun by foreign weed species.

By transplanting healthy, native turf from the Island Course, SICC improved turf integrity while minimising resource consumption and landfill impact. This initiative reflects SICC’s commitment to intentional reuse, ecological restoration, and responsible land management.
