Clean energy, smart Irrigation, and recognised sustainability

During the summer of 2024, Vanguard Properties installed solar panels to produce renewable energy on all the roofs of the Golf Course Maintenance building, as well as on the roofs of the irrigation water storage tanks.

Once again, Vanguard is demonstrating its commitment to sustainability at the Terra da Comporta project, enabling, from the end of 2024, energy production for both self-consumption and injection into the National Energy Network. This will make operations more sustainable and resilient from an energy perspective, with very considerable estimated annual savings.

Self-consumption represents a significant reduction in operational energy costs. For example, the irrigation tanks will be filled solely using energy produced by the solar panels, with a total installed capacity of 160 KVA. Vanguard Properties’ commitment to environmental preservation across the entire project area is clear and widely visible, having been internationally recognised as Europe’s most environmentally sustainable development in 2024.
