Celebrating biodiversity and community engagement through Golf Green Year

This year marks the inaugural Golf Green Year, a programme dedicated to celebrating and enhancing the rich biodiversity found across our golf course. Throughout the year, a series of activities has been organised to connect the local community with nature while promoting environmental awareness.

Monthly Wildlife Photography Days have invited photographers and nature enthusiasts to explore the course and document its diverse flora and fauna, helping to raise awareness of local wildlife and the importance of conservation. The club has also hosted nature walks, talks, and workshops for nearby schools, inspiring young people to learn about biodiversity and the role different species play in maintaining healthy ecosystems.

To better understand and protect the site's natural assets, a comprehensive biodiversity survey has been carried out across the course. The findings are helping to guide future habitat management and conservation initiatives while showcasing the remarkable diversity of wildlife the course supports.

To conclude Golf Green Year, the club will publish a bilingual book featuring the results of the biodiversity survey, complemented by wildlife photography and educational content. The publication will celebrate the course’s natural heritage while encouraging greater appreciation of the important role golf courses can play in biodiversity conservation and community engagement.
