The Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) has initiated the installation of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the Island Clubhouse as part of its commitment to smarter and more resilient energy management. The system will enable SICC to participate in Singapore's Demand Response and Interruptible Load programmes, helping to support the stability of the national electricity grid.

By storing electricity during periods of lower demand and discharging it when demand is high, the BESS helps reduce pressure on the grid and enables more efficient use of electricity. The system also strengthens the club's operational resilience by providing greater flexibility in how and when energy is used.

Through this investment, SICC is supporting Singapore's wider transition towards a more flexible and lower-carbon energy system while strengthening the long-term sustainability of its own operations.
