In 2018, Shaughnessy installed a series of bat and bird boxes at various locations across the property. In consultation with Nature Vancouver, these boxes were designed, built, and strategically placed to support local bat populations, as well as swallow and chickadee bird species. The boxes are regularly monitored for activity and cleaned annually to ensure they provide a sustainable and effective habitat. Primarily located in naturalized areas of the golf course, the boxes not only support wildlife but also contribute to pest management. By creating homes for bats, chickadees, and swallows, these species help control insect populations, further promoting ecological balance and sustainability on the property.
