De leden van de golfvereniging Duinzicht hebben niet alleen invloed op de gang van zaken in de vereniging door via de begroting te besluiten over het mandaat van het bestuur. Bij belangrijke zaken, zoals investeringen in de baan en het clubhuis wordt de mening onder de leden (apart) gepeild. Bij de verbouwing van het clubhuis leidde dat tot een andere aanpak als waarvoor het bestuur had gekozen. Het bestuur accepteert de inbreng van de leden op deze wijze als een normaal onderdeel van de besluitvorming. De directie democratie is tot nu fysiek, dus door middel van bijeenkomsten van leden gedaan. Maar het bestuur sluit niet uit dat meningspeiling in de toekomst ook digitaal zou kunnen plaats hebben.

The members of the Duinzicht golf club influence the affairs of the association not only by determining the board’s mandate through the budget. On important matters, such as investments in the course and the clubhouse, members’ views are also consulted separately.
During the renovation of the clubhouse, this led to a different approach from the one originally proposed by the board. The board accepts members’ input in this way as a normal part of the decision-making process.
Direct democracy has so far taken place physically, through members’ meetings. However, the board does not rule out that, in future, opinion polling could also take place digitally.
