At Powerscourt Golf Club, we have recently enhanced our sustainability efforts by investing in the installation of a heat pump and solar technology for our Clubhouse. These projects, completed in collaboration with CoolPlanet - Crowley Carbon in mid-2024, bring numerous benefits as we work toward reducing our environmental footprint.
Solar Energy:
- Installation of 84 solar panels capable of producing up to 35 kWp of power.
- Expected annual generation of approximately 30 MWh of electricity.
- Projected 10% reduction in annual electricity costs.
- Surplus electricity is fed back into the national grid.
Heat Pump System:
- A state-of-the-art heating system delivering 300 kW of heat output.
- Exceptional efficiency, producing over three units of heat energy for every unit of electrical energy used.
- Significant reduction in the heating portion of our gas usage.
- Transition to a fossil-free energy source, resulting in a notable decrease in carbon emissions.
These initiatives reflect our commitment to sustainable practices and reducing the environmental impact of our operations.
