At Carnoustie Golf Links we always look at a sustainable approach to the development and management of golf courses and what benefit it can bring in terms of cost savings, and of course, enhancing revenue opportunities.

In conjunction with John Deere, we were able to purchase the most advanced GPS sprayer to help us achieve our goals. The GPS automatic guidance technology was developed for John Deere's agricultural business and is now becoming available for golf and turf customers, through the new GPS Precision Sprayer and the development of autonomous mowing equipment.

Carnoustie has three of the first machines to be sold in Europe, which apply inputs more accurately and record spraying operations for environmental purposes.

Advances in accuracy, with every nozzle controlled automatically ensuring that it only sprays inside a mapped area that hasn’t already been treated.

With the help of the MyOperationCentre and the advances in accuracy (with every nozzle controlled automatically ensuring that it only sprays inside a mapped area that hasn’t already been treated) the accurate mapping helps set spray zones and rates more precisely.
