In our endeavor to provide safer nesting sites for small birds, we found a solution by utilising old wooden pallets that were previously used to deliver materials to our Greenkeeping Compound. Instead of discarding them, we decided to repurpose these pallets and craft a variety of bird boxes. The initiative yielded immediate results as a Blue Tit wasted no time in making one of the first four boxes its cozy home, as captured in the accompanying image.
Inspired by this success, we are now planning to create a diverse range of bird boxes in various sizes. Our goal is to attract and encourage a wider variety of birds to nest in and around the course, fostering a thriving and diverse avian community.
