On Tuesday, May 6, Golfbaan Bentwoud hosted its annual Divot Day, where over 75 volunteers helped keep the course in top condition. Armed with buckets of sand and grass seed, they repaired more than 150,000 divots under the guidance of the greenkeepers, who also answered questions about course maintenance.

Now in its fifth edition, Divot Day has become a valued tradition. It not only preserves fairway quality but also raises awareness among golfers, who gain a deeper appreciation of repairing their own divots and pitch marks. The event is also a sociable occasion where staff, AHA de Man’s greenkeepers, and players work side by side for the good of the course.

Course manager Harry van Laviere emphasized: “A golf course is alive and requires maintenance. Thanks to our volunteers, Golfbaan Bentwoud remains a place to play with joy and pride. Divot Day shows how teamwork preserves quality and awareness.”

What makes the day special is that Golfbaan Bentwoud has no traditional membership structure, yet visitors show great dedication.

“We are proud that so many players and guests feel connected and volunteer to keep the course beautiful,” said Van Laviere.
