We have eliminated the use of 23,000 500ml plastic bottles that were given out free to golfers included in their round. This was achieved by installing two water fountains, one in the clubhouse and one at the halfway house. All our members then received a glass bottle with the Avalon logo to bring with them whenever they play. Golfers playing the course for the 1st time will also receive a bottle included in their green fee. If they wish to purchase a bottle as they might have forgotten theirs, the bottles are sold for a nominal fee at the Pro-shop. So far the response has been very encouraging with no complaints from any golfers and or members. A great initiative!
