On the 20th anniversary of our golf club, a week of events was organised by a working group made up of volunteers. The three main axes of ecology, community and the golf game were taken up to make this week a real success. Specifically, on the first day, 20 fruit trees were planted by 20 members of the club.
All present at 9am with their unconditional good mood, we have created a real centre of interest for the native fauna. Different species of birds and bats will find all the benefits of their development and protection in this orchard. We also worked with a local nursery that produced these trees on their sites less than 20km from the golf course.
To be fully integrated into a proactive approach to reduce the use of pesticides, these trees will not receive any phytosanitary treatments. To encourage the recovery of these trees, the meadow will be cut short for the first three to four years, in order to reduce the presence of rodents harmful to the development of the roots of these small trees. In the long term, an extensive meadow will find place under these trees so that bees can come and pollinate these trees which will give magnificent fruit for the happiness of all.
