Core elements of the solutions GEO provides for golf

For many years leading golf organisations have worked in partnership with universities and institutes on development and delivery of a new modern sustainability system with easy engagement points for golf facilities, tournaments and new developments.

  • Standards & Metrics:  GEO Foundation has facilitated development of three set sets of current and practical Voluntary Sustainability Standards for Golf, drawing from the large body of knowledge and best practices, and developed collaboratively, according to ISEAL's Codes for credible standard setting, including public consultation and international Expert Groups. We are also moving toward a more consistent representation of golf’s sustainability scorecard according to modern sustainability metrics for golf.   More on Standards.
  • Support and Recognition: Next, providing an easy way for golf facilities, developments and tournaments to effectively meet their Standard, OnCourse is a powerful platform of ideas, guidance, tools and reporting - supporting sustainability while also delivering business benefits from cost-savings to marketing value, and integrated with relevant regional guidance and tools.  OnCourse® also leads to the optional distinction of GEO Certified®, golf's widely-trusted certification label.   More on Certification.
  • Communications and Reporting:  OnCourse generates a Sustainability Report for each facility, development or tournament for more confident communications.  And on the other side of the coin, OnCourse is gathering a growing, real-time bank of examples and data, enabling the industry to more easily track and report on industry performance, by region or subject.

With a team specialized in sustainability in golf, and recognized as a Full Member of the ISEAL Alliance, GEO Foundation's management and assurance of the whole system ensures it stays current, trusted, and well-represented within the larger sustainability movement.
