Royal Porthcawl Golf Club works with the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust to ensure the conservation of all three native UK newts which breed in two of the on-course ponds.
One of the ponds is designated as a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation as a result of this unique occurrence! Working together, management of the ponds is undertaken to ensure that scrub does not become dominant and that open water remains.
