Dal 2018 il circolo ha individuato alcune vaste aree di rough, lungo i camminamenti, nei boschi e intorno ai laghi da lasciare incolte e nelle quali favorire la fioritura spontanea. Questa strategia ha permesso di ridurre i costi di manutenzione, ridurre l’inquinamento acustico, incrementare il divertimento dei giocatori, proteggere gli impollinatori e in particolare le api. I greenkeeper e i giocatori sono orgogliosi di far parte di un club che promuove iniziative a protezione dell’ambiente: ciò genera pubblicità che contribuisce a attrarre nuovi giocatori. Questo progetto mostra come i golf club possano essere gestiti generando benefit ambientali senza perdere di vista la qualità dei terreni di gioco. Si può arricchire l’esperienza del gioco del golf con l’interesse per il paesaggio e la tutela ambientale.

From 2018, Golf Les Iles has identified some large areas of rough along the walkways, in the woods and around the lakes to be left uncultivated and favour the natural flowers. This strategy has made it possible to reduce maintenance costs, reduce noise pollution, increase the fun of players, protect pollinators and in particular bees.
Greenkeepers and golfers take immense pride in their club doing something positive for the environment: this generates a good reputation for the club and helps attract new players. This operation demonstrates golf clubs can be managed for both high qualities playing conditions and environmental benefit. The Golf Les Iles wishes to enrich the experience of playing golf with an interest in the landscape and environmental protection.
