As part of the development of community relations and enhancement of the golf course environment, La Moye Golf Club welcomed visitors from Société Jersiaise in early November to undertake a survey to record and document the various species of fungi found across the golf course. The Société Jersiaise was founded in 1873 for the study of Jersey archaeology, history, natural history, ancient language and the conservation of the environment. The visit which was led by the Mycology section chairman Nick Aubin gathered samples which are tagged with GPS coordinates for future reference. The samples were then taken away for exact identification of genus and species and then added to the list of flora and fauna found on the golf course. This detailed information allows the club to track the quality, quantity and location of the biodiversity found at the site.
