Utilising GPS sprayers to maximise application accuracy and efficiency

A GPS sprayer is a precision agricultural device used to apply fertilisers, pesticides, and herbicides to the turf. It utilises GPS (Global Positioning System) technology to precisely control the application rate and coverage, ensuring efficient and accurate distribution of the chemicals.

The golf course is initially mapped using GPS technology. The boundaries, contours, and features of the course are recorded, creating a digital map. As the sprayer moves across the golf course, it uses GPS to track its location in real time. The digital map is synchronised with the sprayer's position. The GPS sprayer records data about the application process, including the areas covered, the amount of chemicals used, and the application rates.

This information can be used for analysis, reporting, and future planning. The use of GPS sprayers offers several benefits, including improved accuracy, reduced chemical usage, minimised environmental impact, and more efficient resource management. It allows our golf course manager to optimise their maintenance practices and achieve healthier and more sustainable turf conditions.
