Unique pollution controls for unique location

Domburgsche Golfclub

Netherlands

Situated around the unique and beautiful dunes on the coast of Zeeland province, the 9-hole course at Domburgsche is one of the oldest in the Netherlands. The close proximity to the North Sea calls for a thorough approach to pollution control through a variety of methods. This is achieved by a combination of cultural turfgrass practices such as grazing and reduction of nutrient inputs.

  • Chemical filtering - all wastewater from wash-areas and the clubhouse are treated before being released
  • Biological - wetland areas help filter runoff from the course
  • Regular monitoring of water quality - irrigation water is regularly tested for quality prior to application.

These steps help us to manage our course in line with legislation placed upon us.
