Since 2019, we have started a significant sustainability path in the maintenance of the course. Considering climatic trends, characterized by increasingly high temperatures and water scarcity, we have decided to introduce the use of macrothermal as a turf species on the course. This choice aims to significantly reduce water consumption for the maintenance and irrigation of green areas.

The benefits resulting from the introduction of macrothermal are many:

  • Reduction of water consumption, with a significant decrease in the amount of water needed for irrigation
  • Less use of fertilizers and pesticides, thanks to the greater resistance of macrothermal compared to microthermal species
  • Reduction in the presence of summer weeds, such as Eleusine Indica and Digitaria Sanguinalis
  • Improvement of the aesthetics of the playing field

In conclusion, the adoption of macrothermal represents a strong strategic choice of the club. We are committed to expanding this initiative in future years, with the aim of reducing the environmental impact and promoting a responsible use of water resources.
