Since 2022, the club has been conducting on-site testing of multiple turfgrass varieties for use on tees, fairways, and greens. These trials are designed to determine which varieties perform best under the specific site conditions, including soil type, climate, and the use of wastewater for irrigation.
The goal is to identify two turfgrass varieties that not only allow for the preparation of high-quality surfaces but also reduce the input requirements of water, fertilizers, and pesticides. Additionally, these varieties are chosen to provide better control over weed species. Ultimately, the right turfgrass will enhance playability, improve sustainability, and reduce maintenance costs, benefiting both the environment and the golfer’s experience.
