Thriving avian residents: bird boxes enhance biodiversity

In recent months, we have observed two Barn Owls regularly hunting on our golf course. Recognising their use of our course as a hunting ground, we eagerly welcome the Owls as valuable members of our biodiverse-rich environment. In early March, we installed an Owl box, and since then, we have witnessed consistent activity and signs of nesting within the box, which is a promising development.

To further support our avian residents, we have taken additional measures. During the winter, we removed gorse from certain areas, and in response, we installed several bird boxes near the gorse removal site. These boxes provide nesting opportunities for birds while these areas recover from ongoing work, ensuring they have suitable habitats available to them.
