We at Vidauban Golf Club strive to minimise maintenance pressure on the landscape and have a 3-year strategic action plan to protect the natural areas of the golf course from wildfires and other degeneration.
To do this part of our traditional grassland management involves our three beautiful donkeys, Tornado, Clafoutis and Zéphyr. These members of our team help to keep the grass areas under control and in doing so benefit the local biodiversity by improving the quality of the habitats and encouraging native species to thrive.
This cultural management, a philosophy that has been used by our ancestors for centuries, is low-cost and sustainable - no other input is required, there is no waste produced and it maintains an important link to the past.
