Swiss greenkeepers visit Golf du Rhin to learn about sustainable turf management

Golf Du Rhin

France

Written by: Paul Bontemps

A delegation from the Swiss Greenkeepers Association came to discover the Golf du Rhin and its maintenance. During the day, Paul Bontemps, our head greenkeeper, was able to share his experience in integrated pest management and the management of bio-aggressors. Several points were covered, including

  • Bio-control products
  • Biostimulants
  • Basic substances
  • Intensification of mechanical operations
  • Abiotic and biotic factors
  • Marketing authorization regulations (phytosanitary products, bio-controls and crop-supporting fertilizers)
  • Experiments were carried out on our Golf course.
  • The results were obtained in terms of reductions in the use of phytopharmaceutical products, fertilizers and water.

It was a very rewarding day, enabling all those involved to discuss the subject and understand that there is another alternative to phyto. We would particularly like to thank the Golfs de Genève, des Bois, Vuissens, Lausanne, Crans Montana, Verbier and Lavaux.
