The Club has made sustainability one of its pillars. As part of this project, a Sustainability Champion has been recruited within the membership and he now chairs a Sustainability Committee. The Sustainability Committee acts as the 'conscious' of the Golf Club and is there to assist and challenge operations within the Golf Club.
Initiatives that have been championed since forming have included the introduction of reusable coffee cups at the halfway house and reusable water bottles. In a recent refurbishment of the gent's toilets and showers, waterless urinals have been selected to reduce water consumption. Sustainability has been put as a Management Board agenda item each meeting and championing this subject in the Club's governance, has improved focus on this subject when making decisions.
