Spraying pigment instead of overseeding reduces inputs

Riyadh Golf Club has taken on a new strategy of spraying pigment as opposed to overseeding fairways. This process will use far less resources.

The pigment used is a product called Ryder from Syngenta which is absorbed into the leaf to allow it to maintain a green colour through periods of dormancy. This saves on resources as less water is needed to keep the grass healthy through periods of cooler weather. Less fertiliser is needed to establish the cool-season grass as the Paspalum remains dormant and does not require feeding.
