The golf courses have been planted with a special type of grass, which requires approximately 30% less water than average varieties. Also, our golf courses are currently irrigated from two water reservoirs. A significant proportion of their irrigation needs is covered with highly treated wastewater from the treatment plant operating at Navarino Dunes. We have installed a sophisticated electronic system for the irrigation of the golf courses. The system utilizes climatic data from weather-monitoring stations, installed on the courses, to calculate the optimum amount of water required for irrigation, resulting in significant water savings.
