In May 2024, we installed over 100 solar panels (42.63 kWp) on the roof of our warehouse as part of our ongoing efforts to enhance sustainability and reduce energy consumption. With this system in place, our goal is to generate 10% of our total energy needs from solar energy. In just the first six months, we have seen an energy yield of approximately 34,000 kWh, contributing significantly towards our annual energy consumption, which averages 450,000 kWh.

The benefits of solar panels at our golf club go far beyond just cost savings. By generating renewable energy onsite, we are reducing our reliance on fossil fuels, which not only lowers our electricity bills but also helps combat climate change by cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

In addition to reducing energy costs, the solar panels allow us to become more energy independent. By producing our own electricity, we can stabilise our energy usage and avoid the volatility of energy prices. This not only helps with financial planning but also improves the club's energy security.

Our solar-powered system is also part of our broader sustainability strategy, which includes using electricity produced entirely from fossil-free sources through an energy contract. As we continue to expand our use of renewable energy, the golf club strengthens its environmental profile and appeals to eco-conscious golfers, enhancing our reputation as a forward-thinking, sustainable venue.
