One of the biggest areas we looked at as a club upon starting the GEO Certification process was to make a move away from single-use plastic. As such, we worked with all suppliers to try to remove plastic from deliveries. This included changing the stock we previously sold in the clubhouse shop.

We replaced the majority of plastic bottled drinks on sale in the shop with cans and updated our bar snacks with sustainable packaging brands. Plastic tees have also been replaced by bamboo tees in the clubhouse shop. To ensure members also help us help the environment, reusable mugs were gifted to all, helping to limit the use of disposable cups and lids.

Refillable water bottles are set to go on sale from April alongside a newly installed water fountain, while a recycling station will soon be installed by the buggy store for rubbish collected from the course’s new recycling bins.
