The Nature Walk in September spotted 37 different bird species, including the Black Sparrow Hawks nesting close to the main storage dam and a Long Crested Eagle also present around the course again.

The Bird of the Month is the African Spoonbill. This locally common resident is gregarious and nomadic in response to water levels, enjoying shallow water margins. It has been seen several times on the dam adjoining the 7th fairway, including during this last month. The Spoonbill feeds on small fish and aquatic invertebrates using its spoon-shaped bill and breeds colonially in reed beds or trees. Nature walks are held often, where we hope to see more exciting wildlife!
