The 11th edition of the Futureproof Capels Senior Open was a big success, partly due to the tireless efforts of a large group of volunteers and the main sponsor; ‘De Computerwacht’.
The event took place on July 8, 9, and 10 July. There were over 200 participants aged 50 and over (108 teams from 46 different golf clubs). This year, extra attention was paid to the performance of the large group of super seniors (65+).
The tournament was linked to a good cause and a large part of the proceeds went to the Leontienhuis Foundation, which aims to help with the recovery of eating disorders. A cheque for 4000 euros was presented to Leontien van Moorsel, initiator of the Leontienhuis Foundation.
