2021
We have recently built 2 bug hotels located on our Broomfield course. Utilising old wooden pallets and other spare material, we collected the contents for the hotels, which included pine cones, leaves and reeds, from around the course together with recycled cardboard and piping. The bug hotels also play a part in our "Golf Trail" education programme which we deliver to all primary 4 children in the Montrose area. This project provides an insight into the habitats found here, course design, rules and etiquette, golf coaching and other aspects of the game.
We also recently extended this to include more ecological information which looks at the bug hotel, bird boxes, wild flowers etc. The children and their teachers are always very positive and enthusiastic about visiting our course and we look forward to developing this programme in the coming years..
