2024
Over the last two years, Royal Wimbledon Golf Club has moved away from traditional incandescent and fluorescent lighting to Light Emitting Diodes (LED’s). The introduction of highly energy-efficient lighting will help the Club consume significantly less energy and lead to lower electricity bills.
The Club are confident that LED lighting will reduce the frequency of bulb replacements and the associated maintenance costs for the Club. It is recognised that LED bulbs last tens of thousands of hours, significantly longer than incandescent or fluorescent bulbs.
In addition to the switch to LED lighting, the Club has also installed sensors wherever possible to ensure that lights are only when rooms or areas are in use. These changes will ensure more efficient energy management and help to reduce the Club’s greenhouse gas emissions associated with electricity production.
