In the area of Messina, the closest village to Costa Navarino Hills is Kynigou, where its inhabitants are known by "red feet" a name taken by the soil color and characteristics as it sticks to their feet when they come down to the main town. This red soil type is part of the life in this particular piece of land. When the Navarino Hills golf project was built it made sense to reuse this very small layer of existent native soil on the top of the limestone rocks as one of our features on the golf course and we continue to do so along cart paths and in landscaping areas.
