Kingsbarns Golf Links is visited on a regular basis by at least one Otter. We are blessed to have almost 2 miles of coastline including sandy beach, rocky foreshore, and the outlet of two local burns which we believe provides sufficient variety and range for the Otter (or Otters!).
Out coastline is relatively undisturbed with very few boat movements close to shore, and a fairly quiet sandy beach with the adjacent Fife Coastal Path. The Otter was most recently seen in June 2022 when it was cleaning itself in an area next to one of the burns immediately behind a green. Despite the presence of greenkeepers and with the machine's engine left running whilst photos were taken, the Otter was perfectly calm and went about its business seemingly undisturbed.
