Rescuing, caring for and releasing wild owls

We recently had the opportunity to release two tawney owls (Strix aluco) with the help of our Wildlife Partner RIAS (Centro de Recuperação e Investigação do Animais Selvagems) who are based in Olhão in the centre of the Ria Formosa National Park. The birds were both found on the resort needing help and so after a quick phone call they were taken in by the centre who have cared for them back to full recovery. They were then released back into the resort where they will find sanctuary along with the many owls we already have.
