Reintroducing heather improves aesthetic and provides habitat

After many years of rough management work to remove rank grasses from the turf and return to wispy native grasses, the re-appearance and growth of heather on our links is now paying off.

Its resurgence in many areas has enhanced the appearance of the golf course and is now a habitat for insects and nesting birds that we didn't previously have. It has improved the aesthetics of the links and we hope to further improve and increase it over the years as we further clean up the rough areas on the links.
